Hoodia As An Appetite Suppressant - August 7th, 2010

Many have touted hoodia to be the best natural appetite suppressant currently available. It comes from the Kalahari desert of South Africa, and they say that hoodia will finally help you to see substantially better results, helping you to send signals to the brain, telling it that you are full. Of course, there have also been speculations that you can burn fat. However, those are not commonly known, let alone are they proven.

So the question is, as an appetite suppressant, does hoodia actually work to give you the results that they talk about? When it comes to hoodia, there are many speculations, but no proof, or at least no positive proof. Hoodia is used by a population of people who are already starving. When starving, the body works so that eventually you are not as hungry, because your stomach shrinks to accommodate certain lifestyle changes or choices, in this case choices that have been forced upon them. If you eat enough of anything, in this case it takes very little, you will eventually feel full. This does not necessarily mean that you are getting an appetite suppressant.

When it comes to hoodia, unfortunately, all of the studies seem to show the same thing. All of the studies conducted so far show that hoodia has no known benefits. They have not limited it to appetite suppression. They were looking for other benefits as well, which simply did not come through. And when it comes to hoodia, they also speculate that it may actually cause liver damage.
